Dog Training: Charlie

Charlie didn’t seem like the sharpest tool in the shed initially.

It seemed like he never met a doorway or stationary object that he didn’t bop his head into.

Now look at him rocking sit, down, and sit from a down with just a few brief lessons on each.

Never judge a book by its cover, right? Charlie’s proof of that!

Awesome job, Charlie 🐕!

Taking Spike to Puppy Training

I got a special assignment from my local Humane Society to take Spike to his puppy training class. Spike showed a few behavioral concerns early on so he’s getting some special training to work on them.

Today was his first day hanging out with me and going to class. He did pretty good!

In fact, the lessons were too easy for him. Despite that, he (I mean, we) have some work to do on his stress reactions to unfamiliar people and sounds.

He’ll get there. Good job today, Spike! 🐕 👍🏻

Getting some energy out before class

Looking accomplished after class.

Getting a little sleepy.

And we’re out! 🙂

See you next Saturday for more training, Spike!

Dog Training: Kumah

Kumah was my first dog to graduate to the second level of our training program.

He rocks at tug, drop it, and quiet time. 🙂

Update: Kumah got adopted, but not before becoming a level 2 graduate! (i.e. sit, down, drop it, crate, out, quiet time, and calm greetings with strangers)

I learned so much training him. Miss you Kumah! Good job!
